Academic Excellence: Celebrating Scholarly Achievements
No matter what it is, almost no one’s first association with bubble wrap is home decor. Well, except for the two people who invented it. Bubble wrap was originally marketed as wallpaper. Yes, you read that right. It wasn’t until nearly three years after it originally came on the market that bubble wrap was presented as a way to protect fragile items.
Though that may seem odd, these types of shifts in use happen all the time. A product starts out in one lane, then as people get more access, they start using it in new and exciting ways. In fact, we’re starting to see one happen right now with a tool commonly associated with customer support: the shared inbox.

You can immediately process an email, but only if it will take less than 2 minutes. This 2-minute rule enables you to reply to important emails, or take an action that has a priority. On the flip side it will protect your precious time from less important emails. Processing an email can mean several things like sending a reply, creating a to-do, or sharing an update to a colleague. As long as it takes you less than 2 minutes.
If you need more than 2 minutes to process the email, you can postpone it. My trick is to “Star” an email so it shows up in my Starred folder. Moving the email from the Inbox to Starred is primarily a mental win as it allows you to achieve Inbox Zero, and you know that everything in Starred requires a bit more attention.

As we started working on increasingly more projects we ran into increasingly more pain points within JIRA. So many steps had to be followed to set up a project, the loading time of the tool was far from great and it felt like we used only half of JIRA's features.
We’ve researched different project management tools and tried them out with a small group and wrote down the pros and cons and discussed them with each other. In the end we came to the conclusion that Linear is the best fit for Yummygum in (almost) every way, for project managers as well as our designers.
1. A few pros of Linear that we’re still happy with every day: 2. Overall everything works blazing fast (both in the browser and desktop app); 3. You can create and use templates for issues; 4. Setting up a project is done in a few clicks.
